Skyworth sales first to promote the Chinese TV market

In the wake of the iPhone 8 reportedly being equipped with OLED screens, recent online leaks in the U.S. have revealed images of four Apple TVs featuring OLED displays. Based on these physical photos, it appears that Apple is now incorporating OLED technology into its television lineup. As Apple continues to adopt OLED screens for both mobile devices and TVs, industry experts predict that OLEDs—known for their superior image quality, deeper blacks, and faster response times—will soon become the dominant display technology. They expect OLEDs to gradually replace traditional LCDs in the coming years. In China, Skyworth stands out as a pioneer in the OLED TV market. As one of the first companies to invest heavily in OLED technology, Skyworth has not only led the development of OLED TVs but also helped other manufacturers advance in this field. Since the early days of OLED technology, Skyworth has been at the forefront, continuously innovating and pushing the boundaries of what’s possible with OLED displays. Skyworth began exploring the OLED TV market as early as 2008. In 2013, it launched China's first OLED TV, and over the years, it has consistently introduced new models with cutting-edge features. For example, in August 2015, Skyworth released a 4K OLED TV, followed by the world's first mass-produced OLED HDR TV in December 2015. The company further expanded its product line with the introduction of the AR-equipped OLED S9D in August 2016 and the first domestically developed OLED TV in November 2016, breaking foreign technological monopolies. By 2017, Skyworth had launched multiple OLED TV models, including the S9-I and S9300, and in May of that year, it unveiled the Wallpaper OLED TV—a model so thin it resembles a piece of wallpaper. This innovation solidified Skyworth’s position as the leading color TV brand in China with a wide range of OLED products. Skyworth not only leads in OLED TV technology among domestic home appliance brands but also surpasses competitors like Hisense in production scale. In December 2015, Skyworth acquired the Toshiba TJP plant in Indonesia, marking its first overseas production base. As a global leader in large-scale OLED TV manufacturing, Skyworth has been featured in CCTV’s "News Broadcasting" for its achievements. In the first half of 2017, while the traditional TV market was struggling, Skyworth thrived, becoming the top-selling TV brand in China thanks to its strong OLED technology. According to AVC data, Skyworth sold 7.124 million units in the first half of 2017, securing the number one spot in the market. By June 2017, Skyworth held a 14% market share in mainland China. In June alone, Skyworth ranked first in both offline retail sales and overall retail sales, capturing 16.1% and 16.6% market shares respectively. Skyworth’s success can be attributed to its continuous investment in OLED technology and rapid market expansion. In the first half of 2017, the OLED TV market in China saw a 96% year-on-year increase in sales. Skyworth’s leadership in producing 4K OLED TVs, launching Metz OLED TVs in Europe, and introducing the world’s first AR-integrated OLED TV set the pace for the entire industry. With innovations like the Wallpaper OLED TV, Skyworth has consistently shaped the future of television technology. Looking ahead, Skyworth plans to expand aggressively into international markets. In 2017, the company aimed to achieve 10 million units in overseas sales and 30% independent brand presence. By 2020, it expects to reach 15 million units in overseas sales with 50% of the brand being independently developed. Skyworth is committed to deepening its internationalization efforts and striving to become a global leader in the electronics industry.
