Every time I visit China, I’m consistently amazed by the rapid technological progress fueled by innovation. Here, both individuals and businesses are deeply passionate about change. With the introduction of cutting-edge technologies, remarkable transformations are continuously breaking traditional boundaries. Last week, I attended the Baidu Cloud Summit (ABC Summit) and announced a new partnership with Baidu Cloud—establishing the Baidu-Intel Artificial Intelligence Solution Center. This collaboration focuses on advancing innovation in Cloud Computing, or ABC, which stands for Artificial Intelligence, Big Data, and Cloud Computing. These three pillars are essential to Baidu’s business transformation.
Artificial intelligence and deep learning have revolutionized markets globally, influencing sectors like finance, healthcare, transportation, and manufacturing. At Intel, we're committed to making AI accessible to everyone. That’s why we partnered with Baidu Cloud to create an AI solution center. This initiative combines our strengths in hardware and software to deliver Intel's latest AI technologies through a simplified, scalable, and comprehensive platform within Baidu Cloud.
**Simplified:**
In the early stages, there are no upfront costs. Customers can develop, test, and run AI applications using the Baidu-Intel AI cloud, which supports deep learning frameworks. The architecture is also easy to program and manage via the Intel platform.

Baidu Cloud and Intel offer a full set of tools and solutions to support every stage of the AI workflow—from problem definition to design and production deployment.
The Baidu-Intel Industrial AI Solution Center is expected to launch in the next quarter. Additionally, Intel will continue to optimize its AI framework on the latest hardware and libraries. The Intel Xeon Scalable Processor Platform includes built-in deep learning enhancements through the Intel® Math Kernel Library (MKL-DNN) and Intel® AVX-512, significantly improving performance for neural network training and inference. This will greatly enhance PaddlePaddle, Baidu’s open-source deep learning framework.
Big Data plays a crucial role for most companies as the foundation for advanced analytics. To support AI, many organizations integrate deep learning into their existing infrastructure. In response, Intel developed and open-sourced BigDL, a distributed deep learning library for Apache Spark. With BigDL, users can build deep learning applications as standard Spark apps that run on existing Spark or Hadoop clusters. Baidu Cloud will release a unified data analysis platform integrating BigDL and Hadoop, enabling users to access neural network capabilities without investing in a separate framework.
Cloud computing has become a necessity for enterprises across industries looking to improve agility and scalability. As a result, cloud providers face increasing demands to optimize performance for diverse workloads, especially compute- and data-intensive ones. Intel customized a CPU for Baidu, optimized for its specific workloads, enhancing performance and user experience. Baidu has adopted the latest Intel Xeon Scalable processors, achieving significant energy efficiency improvements. This allows Baidu to provide industry users with top-tier technology to succeed in today’s competitive landscape.
