Just recently, the European Commission’s rapid alert system for non-food products, known as RAPEX, issued a recall notice for LED lights manufactured in China. This specific recall was reported by the Czech Republic.
The affected product is branded under LUMENIX and is called the GU10 LED LAMP. In the OECD Portal, it falls under category 78000000, which pertains to electrical goods.
Upon investigation, it was found that these LED lamps have a design flaw that makes them prone to looseness and potential leakage issues. As a result, they do not meet the safety standards set by the EU, particularly the Low Voltage Directive and the relevant EN62560 standard.
