Electric digital display low temperature compliance tester

According to

GB/T 328.14-2007

Design and manufacture. The electric digital display low temperature compliance tester is used to determine the minimum temperature at which the bitumen waterproofing membrane can be bent without cracking under specified conditions. It consists of a mechanical part for low temperature compliance testing and a control instrument part.

The series low temperature compliance tester incorporates advanced international technologies. The input uses digital calibration and self-calibration technology, ensuring accurate and stable measurement with reduced error caused by temperature drift. The instrument features multiple protection and isolation designs, offering strong anti-interference performance and high reliability.

It operates in either freezing fluid or air, making it easy to use. Its high intelligence makes it suitable for inspection units and coil production units. It is an ideal new standard product for colleges and universities.

Installation and commissioning

1. Place the sink into the low temperature box and add the freezing liquid. A mixture of freezing liquids can be used:

(1) Propylene glycol aqueous solution (1:1), as low as -25°C, or

(2) Ethanol-water mixture (2:1) below -20°C.

After the test piece reaches the specified temperature, it should remain at that temperature for 1 hour ± 5 minutes.

2. Connect the host and controller cables, and turn on the power supply (220V with reliable grounding). Adjust the position of the bending axis using the up and down buttons on the control panel so that it is placed at the bottom of the test piece. The size of the test piece should be (150 ± 1) mm × (25 ± 1) mm. Before starting all tests, adjust the distance between the two cylinders according to the thickness of the test piece, i.e., the diameter of the bending axis + 2 mm + twice the thickness of the test piece. Then place the device in the cooled liquid, ensuring the upper end of the cylinder is 10 mm below the surface of the frozen liquid, and the bending axis is in the lower position.

The diameter of the bending axis may vary depending on the product, such as 20 mm, 30 mm, or 50 mm.

3. After completing the above steps, set the required temperature in step one, the required time in step two, and then turn the switch to the "up" position and place the main unit in the low temperature box. Once the desired temperature and time are reached, the bending axis will automatically rise, completing one test.

Time setting: Set according to the constant temperature time required for material testing. That is, after reaching the set temperature, the test piece is lifted after a certain delay.

4. Temperature setting: In normal SV/PV display mode, press the "SET" key to make the SV display flash. Use the "<" key to navigate to the desired digit, then press the up or down button to set the desired temperature. After setting, press the "SET" key again to return to normal SV/PV display mode.

5. Clear key usage: When the set temperature and time are reached, the bending axis lifts at a speed of 360 mm/min, starting the test. One test is completed, then press the down button to return, and press the clear button to prepare for the next test.

6. After reaching the set temperature, the bending rod automatically performs the test. Within 10 seconds, under appropriate lighting, visually inspect the test piece for cracks. If necessary, use an auxiliary optical device. If one or more cracks penetrate from the coating layer to the carcass layer, or completely through the unreinforced coil, it is considered cracked. Five test pieces should be tested separately. If the device allows, multiple sets can be tested simultaneously.

The initial cold bend temperature range is determined, starting from the desired cold bend temperature, testing each piece every 6°C. Each test temperature should be a multiple of 6°C (e.g., -12°C, -18°C, -24°C, etc.). Starting from the lowest temperature that causes damage, test every 2°C on both the top and bottom surfaces of each group of five test pieces. Each time, change the temperature by 2°C until each group of five test specimens has at least four without cracks. This temperature is recorded as the cold bending temperature of the test piece.

4. After the test is complete, clean the surface and apply anti-rust grease, then cover the device with a dust cover for the next use.
