GAC Acura is set to introduce the TLX at the end of 2017, followed by the hybrid version of the CDX in 2018, and the RDX at the end of the same year. Alongside these model launches, Guangzhou Automobile Acura will also focus on expanding its offline dealer network, aiming to strengthen its market competitiveness through product innovation, marketing strategies, and channel optimization. Considering the current state of China's B-class car market and referencing the pricing of competitors like the BMW 3 Series, Audi A4L, and the new generation of Buick Regal, the domestically produced Acura TLX-L is expected to be priced around 260,000 yuan.
The GAC Acura TLX-L closely follows the design language of the concept car. Its front grille features a new family-style design with a diamond-like polygonal pattern filled with numerous small diamond-shaped elements. Notably, the vehicle is equipped with full LED headlights, while the interior includes five rectangular LED lights, giving it a futuristic and modern look.
The bumper, side air intakes, and fog light area under the front of the TLX-L are consistent with the overseas version previously released. However, the visual effect appears more conservative compared to the concept car showcased at the Shanghai Auto Show. From the side, the new model has a slimmer body than the overseas variant, paired with an 18-inch multi-spoke alloy wheel, creating a balanced and stable overall appearance.
Currently, detailed power specifications for the domestic Acura TLX-L have not been officially disclosed. However, based on the overseas model, it is likely to offer two naturally aspirated engine options: a 2.4L and a 3.5L V6. The 2.4L engine is paired with an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission, while the 3.5L V6 engine comes with a 9-speed automatic manual transmission.
As for the GAC Acura CDX hybrid version, it is expected to feature the i-MMD hybrid system, which combines a 2.0L Atkinson cycle naturally aspirated engine, a power control unit (PCU), and a high-power dual motor. The system delivers 158kW (215PS) of power, and the transmission is likely to use an E-CVT continuously variable transmission for smooth performance.
