I've been using Mitsubishi PLCs for a while. Recently, I started learning about Yonghong PLCs due to work requirements, and I found it quite different from what I was used to.
1. Downloading the program: Go to File -> Save Project -> Save to PLC. Important note: This process does not clear the internal scratchpad D/R registers.
2. Syntax checking (without compilation): Use Tools -> Syntax Check. This is useful for catching basic errors before running the program.
3. Program backup: Access Tools -> System Backup. However, if you back up only the ladder logic, you might miss some data related to tables, such as servo positioning instructions.
4. There's no power-on constant ON special register in Yonghong PLCs. Instead, you can directly short the bus to achieve similar functionality. However, there is a power-on initialization pulse available at M1924.
5. Online monitoring of the PLC status: Go to PLC -> Online -> Open the corresponding project file -> Click OK. This allows real-time tracking of the PLC’s operation during runtime.
Overall, the user interface and programming methods are quite distinct from Mitsubishi. While the learning curve is a bit steep, once you get familiar with the system, it becomes quite efficient. I also appreciate the built-in tools for diagnostics and backup, which help in maintaining stable operations in industrial settings.
