Xinke TDV4-4621 LCD TV integrated fault repair - Home Appliances

In the past few days, South China finally welcomed the official late autumn, with cool weather and a pleasant mood as we said goodbye to the heat. In the afternoon, I was planning to go hiking with some friends on the outskirts of the city, but an unexpected call ruined my plans. The LCD screen of the leader of the ruling party had broken down, and he asked me to help fix it. Model: Shinco TDV-4621, color TV with DVD. The issue is a 3cm-wide green band interference on the left side of the screen, along with green flickering at dark areas, and no sound. During the repair process, I first checked whether the problem was from the power supply or the digital board. Switching to AV mode, the screen showed a blue background full of green interference points. Based on experience, I suspected a power-related issue. After removing the back cover, I visually noticed three capacitors that were swollen—two were +12V filters, and one was a +5.7V filter. I replaced them quickly, powered up the TV, and the image returned to normal. The first fault was resolved. Next, I addressed the silent issue. I used the DVD that came with the unit, turned the volume up to maximum, but there was still no sound. It seemed like the problem was in the power amplifier circuit. The power amplifier used a small 48-pin SMD IC, model TPA3008D2. The circuit was compact and double-sided soldered, making it difficult to work on. I didn’t have the IC data on hand, which made the repair more challenging. After some research, I finally found the data sheet and checked all the working voltages, which were normal. However, the unit remained silent, so I suspected the IC was faulty. Where could I get a replacement? I took a closer look at the circuit and noticed that pin 1 of the IC was for the mute function, controlled by a transistor. The mute signal wasn’t affected by the remote control. I removed the transistor and powered the unit again. To my surprise, the sound returned! It was like a stone coming to life, singing “I am a little stone…” — very satisfying! The user’s son said, “Uncle, you are too powerful!” Later, I found out they had previously taken the TV to a well-known electrical repair shop in the city. They were told the digital board needed replacing, costing around 850 yuan. But since the motherboard was connected to the DVD, it couldn’t be replaced, and there were no new service centers available, so they gave up. Fixing it myself was much cheaper and more rewarding. It was definitely a win-win situation! My message here is: sometimes, not following strict rules can lead to better solutions. If you try to replace the IC without checking other possibilities, you might end up with no solution. Just gently desolder the mute transistor, and the problem is solved. Why not give it a try? I’ve attached the TPA3008D2 datasheet I found. This IC is used in many LCD TVs, so it might come in handy for you in the future. Thanks!
