2018 annual capital scientific instrument development and cultivation project open solicitation

Instrumentation plays a crucial role in China's manufacturing sector. From January to November 2017, the instrument and meter manufacturing industry achieved a total profit of 78.18 billion yuan, representing a year-on-year increase of 20.7%. This strong industrial demand highlights the need for continued market development. To meet this demand, regions with advanced economies such as Beijing, Shanghai, and Zhejiang have accelerated innovation in instrumentation, setting a national example. [Image: Instrumentation] In an effort to enhance the global influence of the Beijing Science and Technology Innovation Center, the Beijing Municipal Science and Technology Commission collaborated with the Beijing Equipment Cooperation Service Center to launch the 2018 capital scientific instrument development project. Following the collection of domestic equipment verification and comprehensive evaluation projects, they aimed to incubate promising initiatives. The deadline for submissions was set for February 8, 2018. To further promote technological advancement and support the construction of a globally influential science and technology innovation center in Beijing, the Beijing Science and Technology Commission recently released lists of new technologies, products, and tech companies. Government departments actively promoted a wave of "red packet" policies, covering innovation, entrepreneurship, and the transfer of scientific achievements. These efforts helped open the “last mile” for technological innovation, making it a key driver of economic growth. According to the official notice, the 2018 Capital Science Instrument Development and Cultivation Project focused on the development and application of key core components and high-end scientific instruments. Projects involving independently developed components with stable quality, high reliability, and mature technological routes were prioritized. Collaborations between research institutions and manufacturing enterprises were also encouraged, aiming to transform these innovations into applied scientific instruments and systems. It is important to note that clinical medical equipment, production machinery, and general-purpose machines are not eligible for this year’s funding. Additionally, the project uses a direct subsidy model, with a maximum support quota of less than 1 million yuan and an implementation period of 1.5 years. Instrument innovation is the first step toward success. However, making high-tech products widely recognized and accepted by the market remains a challenge. Increasing product visibility and market acceptance requires sustained effort. Over the past few years, the domestic instrumentation industry has made significant progress, with some products now capable of fully replacing imported alternatives. Overall, these developments have brought better economic and social benefits. Despite this progress, domestic instruments still face challenges in competing with imported products. Many large-scale procurement projects, especially those involving central or local governments, often favor well-known international brands like Waters, Shimadzu, Thermo Fisher, and Agilent. However, the market share of domestic brands such as Shanghai Concentration Technology, Skyray Instruments, and Zhongke Zhiyunda is growing steadily. The first performance assessment of domestic instruments in Beijing marked a positive step toward opening the market to high-quality, functional products, helping to boost brand recognition and promote the integration of instrumentation with real-world applications. As an innovation-driven demonstration zone, Beijing leverages the capabilities of its science and technology platforms to advance scientific innovation and industrial development. Enhancing the overall level of innovation and self-reliance in scientific equipment is essential. In 2018, the capital scientific instrument development and cultivation project presented new business opportunities. Instrument manufacturers are encouraged to seize these chances, prepare thoroughly, and gain more favorable factors for brand growth.

Composite Terminal Block

The composite terminal is a typical representative of the connector (CONNECTOR), which is composed of a plug (female) and a socket (male) to realize the connection function. For the transfer of voltage, current and signal, this series is characterized by safe, reliable and stable contact, and is mainly used in electric power, communication, industrial control and other industries.
