Tokyo-Toshiba announced that it will begin mass production of the 1/4-inch VGA CMOS image sensor "TCM3211PB" for surveillance cameras and driving recorders at the end of April.
This new sensor uses 5.6 μm large pixels for improved low light sensitivity. Even in Moonlight [1], you can capture bright images.
The sensor also incorporates a single-frame HDR (high dynamic range) function based on the Toshiba algorithm [2]. It can reduce false colors [3] and can realistically reproduce dark and bright areas of high-contrast images.
The product's 60 fps high frame rate (full resolution) enables smooth and seamless capture of video images.
