Huawei has introduced a universal scanning feature in new models like the Mate 6, allowing users to directly translate English words. However, for other brands or older Huawei devices that don’t meet the system requirements, users can only watch enviously.
Maimang's 6 - Negative sweeping translation and scanning function
Before, many users had to rely on third-party apps like Baidu Translate or use phones with built-in translation features. But what most people don’t realize is that translation functions are actually hidden in some common apps. For example, the WeChat “Scan QR Code†feature isn’t just for scanning codes — it can also be used for translating text. Just tap the button below the scan option, and you can identify magazine covers, CD cases, check Street View locations, and even perform translations.
Another common issue when reading articles in WeChat is that if a friend sends a message, clicking the notification takes you out of the article. To continue reading, you have to go back to the public account and find the article again — which can be time-consuming, especially if the article was sent by someone else or is from earlier.
The good news is that WeChat has a "Read Later" feature that many people overlook. When you're reading an article and need to reply to a message, simply tap the three dots in the top-right corner and select "Pin in Chat." This keeps the article open in the chat window so you can return to it easily after replying.
These small but useful features might not be hidden, but still, many users aren’t aware of them. If you know more about WeChat’s tips, feel free to share your experience in the comments below. Let’s help each other make the most of our daily tools!
