LG returns to the Japanese tablet market or a new round of price wars

Chinabyte May 10 news, according to foreign media reports, in order to surpass Samsung, the world's second largest TV maker LG will return to the Japanese market later this year.

The Nihon Keizai Shimbun reported that LG is negotiating with major Japanese electronics retailers and hopes to return to the Japanese flat-panel TV market. This move is bound to trigger a price war between LG and Samsung in the Japanese TV market.

In addition to Samsung, LG will also face flat-panel TV manufacturers such as Sharp, Sony and Panasonic. It is reported that LG plans to launch its tablet in the Japanese market before Christmas, including 30-inch and 40-inch LCD and LED TV.

In 2008, LG announced that it would stop selling LCD TVs in the Japanese market, but continue to sell LCD monitors and mobile phones. Last year, LG's share of the LCD TV market was 11%, and this year it plans to increase to 15%.
