In a bid to enhance public awareness of occupational and public safety, the Wuhan Workers' Safety Culture Experience Hall has officially opened its doors on the 25th, offering free access to the general public. This innovative space combines cutting-edge technologies like virtual reality (VR), digital multimedia, and interactive simulations to bring safety knowledge and skills to life in an engaging and immersive way.
Spanning over 1,000 square meters, the experience hall is divided into six major thematic zones, including construction safety, fire prevention, transportation, gas safety, home electrical safety, and emergency first aid. In addition to these interactive areas, the hall also features a lecture room and a competition zone designed for learning through fun and engagement.
Wang Zhixiong, the project manager from China Construction Third Committee General Contracting Company, explained that the hall serves as a real-time simulation education center. By integrating sound, visual effects, lighting, and electricity, it recreates realistic scenarios using exhibition panels, physical models, and situational role-play. Interactive games and immersive experiences allow visitors to feel as if they are truly present at the scene of various safety incidents, making the learning process more effective and memorable.
One of the highlights is the home appliance safety experience area, where a full-scale replica of a family kitchen is on display. Visitors can use sensors to detect potential hazards and receive guidance through video animations. This hands-on approach transforms abstract safety concepts into tangible, visual, and interactive lessons, helping to deepen understanding and promote safer habits.
Li Danfang, Executive Vice Chairman of the Wuhan Federation of Trade Unions, emphasized that the hall will be open to the public from Tuesday to Sunday, between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm, following the model of social welfare venues. The city plans to organize workers from all industries to participate in experiential safety training, ensuring that safety education reaches a broader audience and becomes a part of daily life.
