21ic Synaptics recently released Synaptics ClearView R63353 Display Driver Chip (DDIC) samples. With this chip, the industry's narrowest bezel of less than 4mm can be achieved. By using the new R63353 DDIC, OEMs can create larger touch screens with beautiful industrial designs that stand out from the competition. The Synaptics R63353 can support a wide range of resolutions, from full HD for smartphones to 320x320 lower resolution formats for smart watches.

“The evolution of consumer electronics design shows that consumers expect more beautiful and sophisticated designs. Solutions like Synaptics ClearView R63353 will accelerate this evolution and impact design innovation in the growing mid-market and This is especially true in the wearables market,” said Patrick Moorhead, president and principal analyst, Moor Insights & Strategy.

“With our latest display driver technology, you can dramatically improve the visual experience, which is the best example of Synaptics' efforts to improve the human-machine interface. ClearView R63353 is a flexible solution that enables customers to achieve multi-purpose applications. "Ty Vehling, vice president of Synaptics' Intelligent Display Division, said.

ClearView R63353 has the following six technical features:

• Support for narrow bezels: With the industry's narrowest bezel, Synaptics display drivers offer superior industrial design flexibility.

• Local Auto Resolution Optimization (ACO): The local ACO provides industry-leading control that balances the light and dark areas of the image separately.

• Sunlight Visibility Enhancement (SRE): SRE can detect ambient light levels and adjust contrast accordingly to optimize viewing.

• Billion Colors: The Synaptics display offers the softest, most natural tones of all displays, showing the purest red, green and blue primary colors as well as a variety of shades.

• Independent white point and color adjustment: The Synaptics display driver adjusts each color independently, including white, to produce a vivid display (regardless of hue).

• Low power consumption: Even in low power mode, the zoomed image is still sharp and sharp, because Synaptics shows the drive to reduce energy consumption if necessary.

Availability: Synaptics ClearView R63353 is now in the sample phase and is expected to be in volume production in the third quarter of 2016.
