e2v releases Freescale's new military communications processor

e2v recently launched Freescale's PC837x PowerQUICC® II Pro communications processor series PC8378 and PC8379 long-term reliability versions, suitable for aerospace, defense, and harsh outdoor environments.

In the power category below 5 watts, the PowerQUICC® II Pro PC8378 and PC8379 processors provide industry-leading superior performance. The design foundation is derived from the processor core of Power Architecture® e300c4s. It is equipped with PCI Express® and Serial ATA (SATA) controllers and dual Gigabit Ethernet controllers. It can also work normally up to 800MHz. They use Freescale's 90-nanometer technology to provide excellent reliability and compelling performance under very low power envelope conditions.
