1 Introduction

Because TD-LTE adopts an all-IP network system, only the PS domain can provide high-speed data services, but the support for voice services is insufficiently considered; in comparison, the traditional TD-SCDMA / GSM network is mature and can provide High-quality voice business support. In addition, TD-LTE network construction follows a gradual process. To ensure the continuity of voice services, it is necessary to have the ability to perform service conversion between TD-LTE and traditional TD-SCDMA / GSM (GPRS) networks. At the same time, in order to ensure that TD-LTE can be well recognized by everyone, it is very urgent and important for TD-LTE mobile phones to provide good voice services. In view of this, according to different terminal forms, the industry has proposed two different initial TD-LTE voice solutions: CSFB solution and dual standby solution, no matter which solution, voice services are provided by the existing 2G / 3G network. The CSFB scheme prioritizes data services and works in TD-LTE mode. When initiating voice services, the terminal is triggered to switch to 2G / 3G mode. The dual-standby solution can simultaneously stand by in TD-LTE and 2G / 3G networks, providing timely data and voice service support and obtaining a better user experience.

2 Technical architecture of single-card multi-mode dual standby solution

2.1 Terminal chip composition

TD-LTE / TD-SCDMA / GSM (GPRS) multi-mode dual standby handheld terminal is composed of a terminal chip supporting TD-LTE and a terminal chip supporting GSM (GPRS) / TD-SCDMA. Among them, the terminal chip supporting GSM (GPRS) / TD-SCDMA is a multi-mode single standby terminal chip, which only works in GSM (GPRS) mode or TD-SCDMA mode at the same time, supports TD-SCDMA HSPA function; supports TD-LTE The terminal chip can be either a single-mode chip or a TD-LTE multi-mode chip, but only works in TD-LTE mode.

2.2 Technical architecture and features

GSM (GPRS) / TD-SCDMA dual-mode single standby module, data services are preferentially registered / established in the TD-LTE module. If the multi-mode dual standby handheld terminal leaves the TD-LTE coverage area, or the TD-LTE mode cannot provide normal data For business support, choose to register / establish / rebuild data services in GSM (GPRS) / TD-SCDMA dual-mode single standby module. The (U) SIM card of this multi-mode dual-standby terminal is the same as the ordinary single-mode terminal. The two modes of dual-standby operate the corresponding parameter area of ​​the same (U) SIM card according to their respective processes. When the two modes operate the (U) SIM card at the same time, the terminal controls the two modules to operate sequentially to avoid conflicts. When a parameter area is operated in one mode, if the parameter area is a parameter area shared by two modes, the terminal can control the operation in one mode without affecting the data in the other mode.

TD-LTE / TD-SCDMA / GSM (GPRS) multi-mode dual standby handheld terminals can support GSM (GPRS) / TD-SCDMA and TD-LTE modes of independent communication and simultaneous communication, respectively.
