China has invented LED fluorescent tubes with a total lighting efficiency higher than 140lm/W and has achieved industrialization. This was revealed by the Fujian Provincial Information Technology Bureau at the "Science and Technology Achievements Conference on the Cross-Strait LED Industry" recently held.
"This marks the first time that China's LED fluorescent lighting system has set a new world record." Academician Hong Maojun, director of the Institute of Physical and Cultural Affairs of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, said that the highest overall lighting efficiency in the world was the NSSW157A developed by Japan Nichia Chemical Industry Co., Ltd. in 2011. The type of lamp has an overall luminous efficiency of 129 lm/W.
This achievement was jointly developed by the Haixi Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Fujian Wanbang Optoelectronics Technology Co., Ltd. and Sanan Optoelectronics. The reporter saw from the monitoring report provided by the National Semiconductor Illuminator Application Product Quality Supervision and Inspection Center that the light efficiency of the fluorescent tube system sent for inspection reached 140.2 lm/W.
Academician Hong Maozhen said that the R&D team achieved comprehensive technological breakthroughs in key materials, optical design, thermal management, and power drive, and finally achieved this result.
According to He Wenming, chairman of Wanbang, at present, this achievement has been industrialized and a large number of orders have been obtained.
