Nvidia: Mobile gaming device market will exceed PC

August 22, according to foreign media reports, NVIDIA will allocate a large amount of resources for the development of the mobile sector in response to the booming mobile gaming market. Nvidia clearly saw the bright future of the mobile gaming market. Igor Stanek, product promotion manager at Nvidia, believes that the market demand for mobile gaming devices will only become larger and may even overshadow traditional gaming peripherals such as PCs in the coming years.

In order to further strengthen Nvidia's capabilities in the mobile space, Stanek pointed out that the company often directly cooperates with Android developers on optimizing Tegra chips for games. Tegra has designed almost every Nvidia application. In the Tegra community, players can easily find applications and install them on a compatible smartphone or tablet. Currently, Nvidia is developing a next-generation Tegra quad-core cell phone, codenamed KAL-EL, that will likely allow smoother images, real-world physics, and lighting effects.

Stanek also said that there is still a long way to go for mobile devices that want to be on the same level as a gaming console or PC as a gaming platform, but he believes that moving games to replace other systems is only a matter of time.

There is no doubt that this segment of the mobile game market is increasing at an unprecedented rate, but it seems unlikely that it will surpass the PC game market completely.
