Apple increases notebook OEM orders

According to Taiwan’s “Economic Daily” report, the total number of orders for Apple’s third-quarter notebook PCs has been increased by 10% to 20%, and Quanta, the main foundry, will thus face an opportunity for growth.

Quanta is Apple's major notebook and desktop computer OEM assembly plant. Industry sources said that Apple's sales are not affected by the poor recovery in Europe and the United States market, and the new model will be shipped in September, Apple's high unit price will drive Quanta Three-quarter results pulled up. Apple's two new notebook computers will be shipped in volume next month, with shipments of up to 500,000 to 600,000 units in a single month, and it will grab the wave of opening schools for replacement, and subsequent shipments will have the opportunity to continue to expand.

In July, Quanta’s combined revenue was NT$86,194 million, a decrease of 14% from the previous quarter and a year-on-year increase of 39.1%. Shipment volume was 3.6 million units, which was a significant 25% decrease from the previous month. Consolidated revenue from the previous seven months was 622.23 billion NT$. Increase 60.24%.

In the second half of the year, Quanta was dragged down by a large customer, HP, and the shipments in the third quarter were not as expected. The company originally estimated that it would increase by 10% from the previous month, and the industry’s estimate was flat or slightly lower. However, Apple’s shipments led to revenue. There is an opportunity to continue to climb upwards.

Apple notebooks changed its profile this year, sales continued to rise, and stressed that the second generation of MacBook Air thin shape will also be listed in the second half, to catch up with the Christmas season sales boom in the fourth quarter.

According to IDC statistics, Apple is the world’s seventh-largest PC factory. In the second quarter of this year, global sales reached 3.463 million units, and its market share increased dramatically, from 0.7% in the first quarter to 0.7%, reaching 4.2%.
