On the evening of the 23rd, the Eiffel Tower in Paris and the Elysee Palace in the Presidential Palace and the tens of thousands of French households and offices were turned off for five minutes, expressing support for the ongoing “Environmental Public Discussion”.

At 1950 hours, the Elysee Palace extinguished all the lights in the corridors, foyer, offices and courtyard. The Prime Minister's Palace of Mation also shuts down all power at the same time; the Eiffel Tower first turns off the top power and then turns off the bottom power.

A non-government environmental organization called the "Star Alliance" recently launched an event called "Let the Earth Rest for 5 Minutes". It is proposed that the French people extinguish the lights on the 23rd from 19:55 to 20:00 on the 23rd for 5 minutes. “Environmental public discussion” expressed support. The "Star Alliance" also called on the French to "replace at least one incandescent lamp into an energy-saving lamp" to remind the public that saving energy is a top priority for preventing climate warming.

Several French cities, such as Paris and Marseille, announced their participation in the 5-minute blackout campaign. Several buildings under the jurisdiction of Paris, including the Paris City Council, the Palais, the City Theatre, the Arc de Triomphe statue, etc., all turn off the power at the same time.
